With all of the Angry Birds branded toys, clothing, accessories, and even an egg cook book, it shouldn’t surprised you that Gear4 has announced that they will be releasing Angry Birds speakers. Gear4 will be releasing three different Angry Birds inspired speakers ranging in price from $89.00 to 129.99 USD. The 2.1 channel speakers are powered and come with a 3.5 mm Jack and iPod/iPhone/iPad docks.
The Red Bird ($89.99) has a 3.55 mm jack that connects to a seperate crate shaped to hold your music player and is the cheapest of the three Angry Birds speakers.
Stepping up to $119.99 gets you the Helmet Pig, which has an integrated iPod docking station on the top of its helmet. This speaker comes with a wireless remote control.
Lastly, the Black Bird will be available for purchase for $129.99 and comes with a larger crate shaped separate docking station, which can accommodate larger music players, such as Apple’s iPad. This Black Bird speaker comes with a wireless remote control and can charge your iPad when connected.
I am surprised that these speakers are priced so high. You can get some very good 2.1 channel computer speakers in this price range. So these speakers better have good sound quality in addition to the Angry Birds cuteness factor. It will be interesting to see how these speakers are reviewed.
If you have cash to burn, look for these docks sometime in September.
