We’re all used to the ‘Play games for free!’ banner at the top of some websites that we visit. Even when we get a seemingly alarming “Virus detected!” pop-up message, it’s kind of like the new eyesore billboard we see on the way home. We notice it the first couple of times, but then it fades into the background.
But when we get the same message when we’re struggling through Ham ‘em High on our phone, all of a sudden it becomes eye-catching! For many Angry Birds enthusiasts around the world playing the free version of Angry Birds, dealing with these scam type banner ads has unfortunately become the norm. However, be warned! Many of these banners are deceitful, others are complete scams. There have been reports of some banners very innocently enticing users to unwittingly download programs that make their phones subscribe to expensive premium monthly SMS subscriptions. Be very careful what you click on when you play.
